Wuzhen Water Town 乌镇
The most polished of the Yangtze Delta canal towns, with stone bridges, wooden houses over the water and a beautifully restored West Scenic Zone.

The 150 CNY ticket covers the West Zone (西栅) only and is the one to buy — it is the part worth seeing and it stays open late.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book Wuzhen Water Town in advance?
Yes — real-name advance reservation is mandatory; without a reservation you cannot enter. Book via the official '乌镇旅游服务' WeChat account or the Wuzhen tourism official website, preferably 1 day ahead (3–7 days ahead on holidays, as Xizha sells out). At the gate show the booking QR code plus your original ID document; no paper ticket needed. Free-admission groups (70+, under 1.2 m/under 6, military, disabled) must also reserve and show ID. The pages only mention Chinese ID cards/student cards — nothing is said about foreign passports for entry or ticket pickup. Refunds: cancel before 24:00 the day before the visit; tickets already scanned are non-refundable. During the World Internet Conference (Nov 1 noon–Nov 3) Xizha and Wucun stop selling tickets while Dongzha stays open.
