Do I need to book Huangshizhai in advance?
Advance real-name, timed and gate-specific reservation is mandatory for every entry, including re-entry. Book via official WeChat mini-programs such as “张家界一机游”/“张家界旅游小助手” or third-party platforms; pages say 1–3 days ahead or at least 3 days ahead. Foreigners can use passport original; no paper ticket, show passport/barcode. Huangshizhai cableway is separate (CNY65 one-way) and can be bought on site or via combo.
